This handcrafted jewelry puzzle box, when closed, represents a tree limb or wood log at each of its 4 sides. We feel that you will not find, or have the pleasure of owning, a more intricate, quality-designed multi-purpose piece!
Good Pre-Owned VINTAGE Condition. From our preliminary research and the wood-carving style, this art piece seems to have been designed / handcrafted by either JEFF TRAG (with whom we are currently corresponding for confirmation [verification available upon request]; and we will update this auction accordingly. UPDATE: As of March 5, 2018, Jeff Trag updated us as such: "Hola, Looking at how the box is lined it probable [SIC] is not mine. I was not really looking at that the other day." As of February 26, 2018, we received an email from Jeff Trag stating "Hola, That could be one of mine... I am still making them." We are still researching...) or DON RUPARD, but, to date, we have YET to positively confirm its Don Rupard. With evidence we've gathered so far, we are leaning toward a Don Rupard creation. If it is his, it's one of his more intricate, detailed works, that not even Jeff Trag, a great artist in his own right, has not accomplished. The interior FINISH is exceptional; and who ever created this box, we feel, was nothing short of GENIUS.
Regardless, it is still ONE of the MOST UNIQUE, Functional work's of art we've seen. Original CEDAR wood scent still present! Minor shelf-wear, light scratches/nicks, NATURAL cedar wood cracks/splits, as expected, throughout. There seems to have been a couple of repairs on on the front-bottom compartment and middle wood slice which joins to center log. This wood log puzzle box is FULLY-FUNCTIONAL, and Carefully protected in a SMOKE/ODOR/PET-FREE, Light/Climate-Controlled Environment.
